MEET THARSI SELVARATNAM

Hi! I’m Tharsi! It is a deep privilege for me to walk alongside people as they navigate their life journeys. My own experiences have had a profound influence on my practice, instilling in me a deep appreciation for how complex and ever-evolving life can be. I firmly believe that each of us, influenced by our diverse backgrounds and life stories, brings a unique perspective to the table. As a therapist, it is my responsibility to honor and embrace this diversity, and create a safe and inclusive space for clients from all walks of life. 


In sessions, I serve as a supportive guide, helping you explore and navigate your history, emotions and challenges. My therapeutic approach is firmly rooted in the principles of trauma-informed care, culturally-sensitivity and anti-oppression. I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic techniques, including attachment based, emotions focused and client-centered approaches, tailoring my approach to meet your specific needs and goals. 


The therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is an essential element for achieving meaningful change. During our time together, my primary objective is to create a safe space where you can genuinely feel seen, heard, and witnessed, allowing you to unpack your lived experiences free from judgment. I feel honoured to witness your story and provide support that recognizes you as the expert of your own life. 

  • I hold a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) in Psychology and Biology from York University, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Toronto, specializing in Children and their Families. I have been in Social Work practice since 2011.

    My professional journey has taken me through the realms of child protection, family and criminal court, healthcare, violence against women and the not-for-profit sector. Additionally, I provide supervision to Master of Social Work students.

  • My primary practice focuses on counselling with adolescents, individuals, couples and families. I specialize in childhood and adult trauma, depression and anxiety, family conflict/violence, relationships, life transitions, and parenting stressors.

MEET STEPHANIE BRISKIN

Life is a funny mix of beauty, and pain, and lots of blended experiences in between.

Hi, I’m Steph! I’m very passionate about the field of Social Work and bring compassion, a sense of humor, sensitivity and a down-to-earth demeanor to my work. I put a high premium on the therapeutic relationship and I work to help clients in all stages of life feel comfortable in session.
 

I consider myself a lifelong learner and a perpetual student-by-nature. My client-centered approach underscores the importance of respecting my clients as experts in their own life. Additionally, I work with a focus on anti-oppression, anti-black racism and as an ally to the LGBTQ2+ communities, ensuring that my practice is inclusive and affirming.
 

I have a special interest in working with children, adolescents and families working their way through the crisis points in childhood and family changes. To best support my clients, I employ a a myriad of therapeutic modalities including play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and narrative therapy, with the goal of helping clients to feel supported, accepted, and lifted, while they work towards achieving their therapeutic goals.

  • I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Cross-Disciplinary Studies from the University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Social Work degree(BSW) from York University, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Toronto. I’ve been a Registered Social Worker since 2001.

    My professional journey has taken me through the fields of child protection, family court, and community counselling. Additionally, I provide clinical supervision to both Master of Social Work students and practicing therapists.

  • My primary practice focuses on counseling with children, youth, and their families, while also working with individuals and couples. I specialize in supporting clients through life transitions and challenges that include separation and divorce, parenting challenges, relationship wellness, identity development, work stress, fertility challenges, school transitions, work-related stress, general anxiety, and depression.

Hi, I’m Satnam! I’m known for my calm and compassionate nature, and these qualities  are at the core of how I support others. My life’s calling is centered around supporting others, and I approach this with a strong emphasis on empathy, a non-judgemental stance and a client-centered perspective. I firmly believe in meeting you where you are on your unique journey.


Taking the initial step towards seeking counselling can be a difficult decision and I applaud you for your courage in doing so. Accessing help can stir up many different emotions and I’m here to help you navigate through them in a safe and supportive way. My approach to therapy is trauma informed and committed to anti-oppression and cultural sensitivity. I draw from various therapy modalities, including narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy, to tailor our sessions to your specific needs. 


My background in Social Work spans various settings, and it has been an invaluable teacher.   • I hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) from Ryerson Univeristy and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the Univeristy of Windsor, specializing in sexual violence. I have been in Social Work practice for the past 15 years.

    My professional journey has spanned across diverse fields, encompassing roles in trauma and crisis support, child protection, school social work, and the violence against women sector.

  • My primary practice focuses on counselling with adults and couples. I specialize in the areas of childhood and adult trauma, family conflict/violence, parenting and fertility challenges, as well as general anxiety, depression and stress.

MEET KRISTEN CHAMBERS

I believe deeply in the restorative power of human connection.

Hi, I’m Kristen! I am a passionate parenting coach, who has a natural ability to connect easily with adults and children alike. Those close to me often describe me as a kind, funny and upbeat individual who consistently sees the good in others. I believe deeply in the restorative power of human connection and I center my work on helping to repair shifted family connections.

In my practice, I offer virtual and in-person parenting support sessions for children and their families. My approach is grounded in the understanding that healthy family dynamics are essential for the well-being of all members. I recognize that life can present challenges that sometimes lead to strained family relationships, and I am committed to helping families mend those connections. 

Additionally, I provide Fully Supervised Access support for families navigating high-conflict separation and divorce. I understand the unique challenges these situations can pose and strive to create a safe and supportive environment for both parents and children during this process.

My ultimate goal is to assist families in finding common ground, rebuilding trust and fostering positive connections that lead to healthier and happier lives. 

  • I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in the area of Early Childhood Education from Ryerson Polytechnic University. I have 27 years of experience working with children, youth and their families.

    My professional journey includes experience from a myriad of settings working with families requiring support in the areas of child protection, maternal care and post-natal care, parent-child/teen conflict, substance use and mental health, parenting challenges, separation and divorce, intimate partner violence, online safety and human trafficking.

  • My primary practice focuses on providing in-person fully supervised access support for families working through high-conflict separation and divorce. I also provide virtual and in-person parenting support sessions for children and their families.

Hi! I’m Lexi! My passion for this work is deeply rooted in the strong relationship built with my clients. I am truly honoured to be the one that gets to support and walk alongside those that I work with during  some of their most vulnerable life experiences.

I like to describe my approach to therapy as ‘real’ and ‘down to earth.’ I’ve been told by my clients that they appreciate my personable and authentic nature, as well as the laughs that we often share during sessions. The truth is – we all struggle at times and it is my hope that during our time together, you feel understood, supported, and most importantly, not alone.

My professional journey has spanned various settings. I am grateful for every one of my experiences as they have enriched my understanding of the many unique challenges that individuals and families may be facing. It is my hope that I can use these experiences as a foundation for continuing to support those that I work with. I use an eclectic model to therapy which is always uniquely tailored to whomever I am working with. I consider myself a student at heart and am often taking professional development courses to better my understanding and abilities in my work. My goal is to not only support you in overcoming immediate challenges but also to assist you in building the skills to manage future obstacles and cope with difficult thoughts and feelings.

    My professional journey includes work with individuals, couples and families in many different settings including schools, hospitals, child welfare agencies, community agencies and mental health treatment centres.

I specialize in issues surrounding mental health (anxiety, depression, stress management), relationship challenges including separation, divorce and family conflict, as well as difficult life transitions and perinatal mental health.
