  • At the first point of contact, we will arrange a 15-minute phone consultation with you. The purpose of this call is to gain a deeper understanding of your needs and to provide you with insights into the therapy process. Should you decide to proceed with therapy, we will send you a consent form to sign before your first session.

    Your first scheduled session will serve as an intake session, during which your therapist will take the lead in delving into your background and experiences. This session covers various aspects of your life and plays a crucial role in establishing the therapeutic relationship, which is fundamental to the success of therapy. Together with your therapist, you will set individual goals for therapy, which will serve as the foundation for your ongoing sessions.

    The scheduling of sessions is designed to accommodate your pace and availability, ensuring that they are tailored to meet your specific needs and goals.

  • At Glimmer Therapy, our team of therapists and family support clinicians bring a variety of expertise and therapeutics approaches to sessions in order to meet the diverse needs of our clients.

    During the 15 minute consultation call, we want to hear about your specific needs, goals and therapy preferences. This allows us to carefully match you with a therapist that aligns best with your unique needs. We also provide insight into what therapy entails and address any questions you may have. Rest assured, there is no pressure to commit, and the choice to embark on the therapeutic journey is entirely yours to make.

  • Therapy sessions are 60 minutes including 10 minutes of documentation time. For couples and family therapy, we also offer the option of 90 minute sessions including 10 minutes of documentation time. The frequency of counseling is determined in collaboration between you and your therapist, taking into account your schedule and goals. Some clients find it helpful to initially have sessions weekly and then contact us when they feel they need to check back in. Other clients prefer weekly or bi-weekly sessions based on their needs.

  • Our fees align with the recommended ranges set by the professional college of each provider.

    Individual therapy sessions range between $180 to $200 per 60-minute session.

    Couples and family therapy sessions range between $200 to $220 per 60-minute session.

    Supervised parenting time is $100 per 60-minutes, with a travel fee of $50 within the GTA.

    Parent coaching sessions are available virtually, by telephone and in-person for $150 per 60-minute session; 30 minute sessions are also available. There is an added $50 travel fee for in-person sessions within the GTA.

  • Yes, most insurance companies cover therapy by Registered Social Workers. Please connect with your insurance company to discuss your coverage.

  • Our team of therapists have a wide range of experience and expertise to cater to our diverse clientele. If we are not able to meet your particular need, we are happy to make a referral to ensure you can access the support that is best suited for you. Your well-being remains our top priority.

  • As part of our standard procedure, we will require you to sign consent forms and complete online documentation prior to your initial session. All information collected is kept securely and confidentially.

  • Currently, sessions are offered virtually.

    Clients experience virtual sessions to be just as comfortable as in-person sessions, with the added benefit of being in the comfort of their own home, allowing more flexibility in scheduling, and addressing barriers such as child care, and travel. We offer evening and weekend sessions.

  • Our clinicians collaborate with families to assess and support their parenting needs.The goal of this support is to promote positive family interactions by providing parents with support, teaching and practical tools to address specific challenges and enhance their overall confidence in their parenting abilities.

    We offer in-person supervised parenting support, including supervised exchanges, in the Greater Toronto Area.

    We also offer in-person parent coaching sessions in the Greater Toronto Area and virtual and telephone parent coaching sessions across Ontario.
